AT&T has notified Illinois customers that its traditional Residential Local Service will be discontinued on or after March 15, 2027. The company stopped selling it to new customers in October 2025, and existing customers can no longer change their service or take it with them if they move. Affected customers may be asked to switch to fiber, wireless, or one of AT&T’s digital phone plans. Community Phone doesn’t use copper wire or internet, so none of this affects your service.
