Their Setup
Awake Us Now is a virtual church that serves parishioners nationwide. Their employees live across three states. Members of the community call their church number to speak to their pastors one-on-one, hear the recording of that week’s sermon, and donate.
Awake Us Now was using a local cable provider for phone service.
During the pandemic, everyone in the parish had gone remote. Their basic cable provider could not offer any features to route calls to pastors. That did not work given that they were all working from home on their personal cell phones, not sitting in an office.
Initially, Awake Us Now just needed a virtual receptionist. Over time, they have expanded to additional exciting features that grow their parish.
When callers reach the main business number, they hear a professionally recorded greeting welcoming them to the parish and asking them to press different numbers to connect to the pastors, care ministers, or office manager. The pastors speak to parishioners using their personal cell phones, but they don’t want to share their personal cell phone numbers. With the Community Phone app, the pastors make outbound calls using the main Awake Us Now phone number. Their personal number stays private. Learn more about caller ID masking

When callers press 7, they can hear a recording of that week’s sermon and bible class with Pastor Dodge. Ann, Awake Us Now’s business manager, changes those recordings weekly using her Community Phone dashboard.
